From 31 August 2020, the blue card system in Queensland will be changing. These changes will impact blue card applicants, card holders, and organisations. Some of the key changes include:
- No Card, No Start – a worker or volunteer cannot begin work until a blue card application is approved and the person has their card
- If a card is not renewed by their expiry date, the No Card, No Start law will apply
- Stricter exemption requirements, and a new expiry date for exemption cards for police and teachers
- A new frequency test
