With the New Year come the implementation of the revised DIAS Practice Accreditation Standards.

The Department of Health has undertaken an extensive review and consulted widely with the sector and stake holders in regard to the progress of the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS). One outcome of the review was to clarify some of the existing standards and their evidence requirements. No new Standards have been added to DIAS.

All practices undergoing DIAS accreditation will now be assessed against the revised standards “The Practice Accreditation Standards – Diagnostic imaging Accreditation 2015”, as effective from the 1 January 2016.

The revised DIAS Standards can be accessed on the Department’s website, along with a new User Guide developed to support practices preparing for accreditation. HDAA strongly encourage practices to refer to the new User Guide to ensure the Standards and evidence requirements are understood and the full required evidence is provided for your accreditation assessment.
